Kirby's Dream Buffet is played as Kirby competing with three other Kirbys to eat the most strawberries. There are 3 modes:
- Race: where the player and three other Kirbys race to collect the most strawberries.
- Minigame: Several different types where the player tries to eat the most strawberries before the others.
- Battle Royale: the player character and three other Kirbys fight to eat the most strawberries, similar to Minigame.
In the Grand Prix mode, they play in this order: Race, Minigame, Race again and finally Battle Royale.
